Calendar Buddy Privacy Policy
Calendar Buddy is a family command center provided by Boltaic LLC. This Privacy Policy applies to the owner-connected Calendar Buddy preview for Echo Show 15 and its companion management interfaces.
The owner-connected preview connects to a Calendar Buddy server selected and administered by the household owner.
Information Calendar Buddy Processes
Calendar Buddy processes information that the household owner chooses to add or connect, including:
- Household member names, initials, roles, email addresses, and internal user identifiers.
- Calendar events and related details, including titles, dates, times, notes, locations, and attendees.
- Chores, routines, reward goals, meals, ingredients, and shopping-list items.
- Photos selected through a companion application for display on the household dashboard.
- An approximate home location used to provide local weather.
- Device and pairing identifiers used to connect and secure an Echo display.
If the household owner connects an iCloud calendar, Calendar Buddy also processes the Apple account email address and app-specific password required for CalDAV access. The app-specific password is encrypted before storage.
How Information Is Used
Calendar Buddy uses this information to:
- Provide and personalize the household dashboard.
- Synchronize connected calendars.
- Display household weather and selected photos.
- Save household calendar, chore, meal, and shopping-list changes.
- Pair authorized devices with the correct household.
- Authenticate users and devices and protect household information.
- Provide customer support and investigate technical or security problems.
Calendar Buddy does not use household information for advertising, third-party marketing, or cross-app tracking. Boltaic LLC does not sell personal information.
Services Involved
The owner-connected preview stores Calendar Buddy information on the server selected and administered by the household owner.
At the household owner's direction, Calendar Buddy may exchange calendar information with Apple through CalDAV. Calendar Buddy may also send an approximate home location to the configured Thunder Buddy weather service to obtain a local forecast.
Amazon distributes the Echo application through the Amazon Appstore. These providers may process information under their respective privacy policies.
Device Permissions
The Calendar Buddy Echo application uses network access to communicate with the configured Calendar Buddy server.
The Echo application does not request microphone, camera, contacts, precise-location, wake-lock, or general-storage permissions. Calendar Buddy does not receive Alexa voice recordings merely because the application is installed.
Data Security
Calendar Buddy release connections use TLS. Provider credentials are protected using authenticated encryption. Device credentials are restricted to one household. The Echo application protects its local credential and cached household information using Android platform security.
No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but Calendar Buddy is designed to keep credentials and household information private to the configured household.
Data Retention
Household records remain on the configured server until they are deleted by the household owner or server administrator.
Calendar Buddy interfaces allow authorized users to remove supported calendar events, household profiles, chores, meals, shopping-list items, and photo connections.
The household owner can revoke an Apple app-specific password through Apple at any time. Revoking the password prevents Calendar Buddy from performing future CalDAV synchronization with that credential.
Because this preview is self-hosted, the household owner or server administrator controls server backups and their retention.

Children
Calendar Buddy is a household utility. The owner-connected preview is offered to household account holders and is not offered as a child-directed social service.
A household owner may enter a child's profile, chores, or schedule as household information. Children cannot manage provider credentials, pair devices, make purchases, or configure external data connections.

Use “Calendar Buddy Privacy Request” as the subject. Do not send an Apple app-specific password, device credential, or other secret.
Changes to This Policy
Boltaic LLC may update this Privacy Policy when Calendar Buddy's features or information practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
Calendar Buddy will update this policy before introducing materially different information practices or a generally available cloud service.
